April 9 & 10, 20217:30 pm David Amram's PARTNERS: A Double Concerto for Violin, Cello and Orchestra will have its Texas Premiere with the Dallas Symphony in a program with Aaron Copeland's Appalachian Spring.

The three movements of David Amram’s Double Concerto PARTNERS, premiered in December 2018 by Maria Schneider and Jolyon Pegis, honor the different genres of music that these three groups of unique musical partnerships celebrated.

The Towne Crier Cafe and friends are making a community statement to show support for Ukrainians.. Several notable performers from the Mid-Hudson Valley have been confirmed, including David Amram, Tom Chapin, John Sebastian, Joe Louis Walker, and Vanaver Caravan. August 3rd • CKCU radio show Stranger Songs, with Mike Regenstreif, finds connections and develops themes in various genres. The August 3rd show features David Amram and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott: Celebrating two iconic musical legends at 90. David Amram, classical composer and conductor, jazz musician and composer, folksinger and songwriter, turned 90 on November 17, 2020. Legendary folksinger and storyteller Ramblin' Jack Elliott, travelling companion to Woody Guthrie and significant influence on the young Bob Dylan, turned 90 this week on August 1. Both Jack and David are still going strong and performing at age 90.

Sept 18th-26thThe third annual Village Trip Festival in Greenwich Village, NYC

Free Kick-Off Concert on Eighth Street Intersection of Eighth and MacDougal streets David Amram will headline a free outdoor concert, playing with this quartet featuring Kevin Twigg, Rene Hart, and Adam Amram. They will be joined by special guests, including Rene Manning, Earl McIntyre, Jerome Harris and guitar quartet Bodies Electric. From 5-6, they will be celebrating Amram and Jack Kerouac's collaborations in 1957, with Hungarian poet Gabor Gyukics and others joining in for this Jazz/Poetry reading.

Sept. 21st from 730-10pm: Amram's Prelude ,Prayer and Dance for unaccompanied Viola has its World Premiere with Consuelo Sherba, solosist

Hartford CT, presented by Willie Nelson. David has been a part of this annual celebration of the American Farmer since 1987. In 2018 Amram was awarded the first Spirit of Farm Aid Lifetime Achievement Award.

Meeting under the Arch in Washington Square Park at 2pm sharp, Amram will host a walking tour Sixty-five Joyous Years in the Village. Amram will recount adventures beginning 1955 when he was a member of the Charles Mingus Quintet in the Village and met and collaborated in the Village with Oscar Pettiford, Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk, Bill Evans, Pepper Adams, Candido and host of other great Jazz and Latin Artists.

October 7 - 11Lowell Celebrates Kerouac - Lowell, Massachusetts
David will be hanging out and celebrating Jack Kerouac. David will talk about his friendship from accompanying the poetry of Jack Kerouac from 1957 at NYC's first-ever public jazz/poetry readings until Kerouac' death in 1969.
This festival, in Jack's hometown, features music, poetry and tours of the city.

A short film screening of Jack Kerouac's classic 1959 film followed by a Q&A with the film's composer David Amram
Pull My Daisy was produced and directed by Robert Frank and Alfred Leslie, and Kerouac narrated the silent film spontaneously.
Composer David Amram wrote the score, as well as being a character in it at the request of Kerouac, and will be present at this rare in-person screening for a Q&A afterwards. Join us for a glimpse of the young Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Amram. Larry Rivers, Gregory Corso, and Alice Neel in this award winning classic film.
